TURA, June 17: A driver of an auto rickshaw has been killed after a high speed bolero pik up truck recklessly driven by one driver that was coming on the wrong side of the road smashed directly onto an autorickshaw killing the driver of the three wheeler and leaving two passengers, including a three year old girl seriously injured in Tura Nehru Park area on Friday evening.
As per eye witness accounts, the Bolero pickup bearing no -ML14-6270 came in extreme high speed and on the wrong lane of the road dashing straight into the Auto rickshaw bearing no-ML08D-6239.
The impact was so severe that the auto was flung off the road into a plantation below and the bolero vehicle also went off the road.
The driver of the auto did not stand a chance given the high impact of the collision. Semson M Sangma, aged 36 years, resident of Molmegre area of Araimile, was rushed to Tura civil hospital with severe head injuries but died of his wounds.
A mother and child travelling in the vehicle were grieviously injured. They have been identified as Mrs Jadambe cheana M Arengh, aged 28 years, and her three year old daughter Emiansha Amadora M Arengh, residents of Danak Dopgre under Araimile area of Tura.
