Shillong, June 25: In a ground-breaking achievement for dental care in the Garo Hills, an 8-year-old child from Rongjeng underwent a successful surgery at Tura Civil Hospital to remove a left central incisor tooth that had erupted through his left nostril.
The intricate operation was performed by Dr. Sengkam R. Marak, MDS, an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, and Dr. Stevie Jaseng N. Sangma, MD, an Anaesthesiologist. Their efforts were supported by Dr. Crejithson R. Marak, Senior Medical and Health Officer, Sister Sheila K. Sangma, and other operating theatre staff of Tura Civil Hospital.
This marks a significant milestone in dental and surgical care for the region, showcasing the hospital’s capability to handle complex cases with expertise and precision.
