Tura, June 18: The 1st and 2nd Division matches of the Tura Football League saw exciting matches on Tuesday as Chandmary FC defeated Danakgre YSCA in a 4-3 thriller whereas Seltang FC won 2-1 against Real Ambeng, respectively. Both the matches took place at the Chandmari Football Turf.
In the 1st Division, the game kept swinging between Chandmary FC and Danakgre YSCA with the decider coming at the later end of the match, thanks to the heroics hat-trick by Songanan Shaiza. It was Danakgre YSCA that got the scoreboard running with Laltu M Sangma opening the account for in the 12th minute, but Chandmary FC equalized it in the 24th minute with a goal by Songanan Shaiza. Shortly after, Chugam Ch Sangma managed to secure a lead for Chandmary with his goal in the 28th minute, ending the first half with a 2-1 lead against Danakgre.
After halftime, Songanan Shaiza of Chandmary FC added two more goals to the lead in the 54th and 71st minute. However, the match took an interesting turn when Kimkim Momin of Danakgre YSCA found the back of the net twice in the 72nd and 79th minute, closing the gap in the scoreline.
Both the teams put forth relentless effort till the last second, but the final whistle declared Chandmary FC as the winner with 4-3 victory against Danakgre YSCA.
In addition, Balgrimra D Sangma and Chugam Ch Sangma of Chandmary FC received the yellow cards in the 18th and 31st minute, respectively, whereas Mikjrang M Sangma of Danakgre YSCA received his cautionary yellow card in the 36th minute.
In the Second Division, the match between Seltang FC and Real Ambeng was also a close encounter. Tengsu A Sangma scored twice during the first half in the 12th and 42nd minute respectively, setting up a 2-0 lead for the Seltang FC. Meanwhile, the Real Ambeng team struggled to connect their shots despite best efforts.
During the initial minutes of the second half, both the teams seemed to have a hard time converting their clear chances and mostly overshot their target. However, Real Ambeng redeemed themselves when Otovi A. Sangma found the back of the net in the 63rd minute, narrowing on the lead and, hence, launching an attack onto their opponent.
However, at the final whistle, the two goals scored in the first half was enough for Seltang FC to win the match against the solitary goal of their opponents.
Pangrak D Sangma of Real Ambeng received the only yellow card of the game in the 16th minute mark.
