Tura, May 31: The First Division and Second Division matches of the Tura Football League on Thursday featured entertaining games, with Ganolgre SYC narrowly defeating Nostu Nopantu SCYC in the Second Division, while Greenwood FC secured a last-minute victory against WI Spirit in the First Division.
Both matches were played at the Chandmari Football Turf, Tura.
In the Second Division, Ganolgre SYC won 2-1 against Nostu Nopantu SCYC, with all the scoring occurring in the second half. Lenicar R. Marak and Pringseng T. Sangma scored for Ganolgre SYC in the 54th and 59th minutes, respectively. Nyangku M. Sangma of Nostu Nopantu SCYC managed to score in the 66th minute.
Meanwhile, in the First Division, Greenwood FC triumphed with a 3-1 victory over WI Spirit. Greenwood FC opened the scoring with a goal by Gadiel Lhouvum in the 7th minute, which was countered by a goal from Sengmath R. Marak of WI Spirit in the 18th minute. Greenwood FC’s winning goals came towards the end of the second half, with Sengsu Momin and Chekam Marak scoring in the 73rd and 76th minutes, respectively.
Blateilang Kharsati of WI Spirit received the only yellow card of the game in the 73rd minute.
