Tura, June 17: Greenwood FC defeated Araimile SCYC by 4-2 in the First Division match, whereas in the Second Division match, Sampalgre YC dominated Cherangre YSCC with a 4-0 victory.
Both the matches of the Tura Football League was played at the Chandmari Football Turf in Tura on Monday.
In the First Division, Greenwood FC opened the scoring with Pusak Sangma scoring in the 9th minute, which Araimile SCYC replied with Jayangbirth T Sangma finding the back of the net in the 21st minute.
Chekam Marak scored a lead for Greenwood with his goal in the 34th minute, but was quickly equalised by Araimile with a goal by Matsram Marak in the 38th minute, ending the first half in a 2-2 deadlock.
After half-time, the deadlock continued with both sides struggling for redemption. However, Krebirth Sangma broke the impasse with his goal in the 73rd minute followed by Sunil Marak scoring in the 79th minute, both in favor of Greenwood FC.
Greenwood FC won the match with 4 goals, while their opponent, Araimile SCYC, were static with their two goals scored in the first half. Jellezel Marak of Araimile SCYC was awarded the only yellow card of the match in the 76th minute.
In the Second Division, Franklin D Shira opened the scoring for Sampalgre YC with a penalty goal in the 6th minute, after which the entire first half became static as both teams struggled for an opportunity.
Later in the second half, however, Sampalgre YC found their momentum when Kreningbirth D Sangma found the back of the net in the 52nd minute, followed by Luxbirth D Shira scoring two goals in the 56th and 61st minute respectively.
The Sampalgre YC team won the match witha 4-0 victory against their opponent, Cherangre YSCC, who struggled at converting their chances throughout the game.
Raksrang Marak of Cherangre YSCC received a yellow card in the 68th minute of the match.
In the line up for Tuesday’s match of the Tura Football League, Chandmary FC will be facing Danakgre YSCA in the First Division, and in the Second Division, Real Ambeng will be going against Seltang FC. Both the matches will take place at the Chandmari Football Turf.
