Tura, June 9: BOCA Juniors and Selsella SA locked horns in the third semi final round of the Tura Football League Super Division at the P. A. Sangma Stadium, Dakopgre in Tura on Saturday, where Selsella SA took the spot of second finalist after defeating BOCA Juniors in a 2-0 victory.
From the first whistle, both teams launched relentless attacks trying their best to break each other’s defense but eventually entering a deadlock.
However, later in the first half, Selsella SA was successful in converting their chances registering two consecutive goals in their name, with Chingku Moring M Sangma scoring in the 41st minute and Chichang Momin finding the back of the net in the 42nd minute mark.
The first half ended with Selsella SA attaining a 2-0 lead against BOCA Juniors, who seemed to struggle at scoring despite best efforts.
The entire second half of the match became static with none of the teams being able to convert some of their clear chance, witnessing numerous offsides and players overshooting their targets. And Artrish Ch Marak of Selsella received the only cautionary yellow card of the match in the 59th minute.
The final whistle concluded the match and the two goals scored in the first half by Selsella SA was enough to get them a chance at the coveted title, eliminating BOCA Juniors from the race.
The Super Division final is expected to witness an exciting bout, as Selsella SA has a chance at redemption after previously being defeated by Chippakore FC in the first semi final match. Both the teams were the top two leaders in the league table and them facing each other again but now with higher stakes, has just elevated the hype for the Tura Football League.
The final super division match of the Tura Football League will be played on June 15th at the P. A. Sangma stadium, and the District Football Association is all set in their preparations for the grand celebration.
