Tura, June 15: Rising cases of fresh infections of the new strain of the Covids-19 mutated virus and the fast infection cases has forced authorities to quickly lockdown areas where high number of cases are being identified.

On Tuesday, two localities of Tura town, namely A’konggre under Dobasipara Urban Primary Health Centre and Daren Agal village under Darengre Primary Health Centre, located on the fringes of Tura town were turned into containment zones by the West Garo Hills District Administration following detection of a substantial number of new infections, with one area finding over half a dozen positive cases in a single family.

As many as 14 positive cases came to be identified in A’konggre locality, while 12 other positive cases were detected from Daren Agal village under Dobasipara PHC.

West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh in an order has prohibited unregulated movement of people in the two areas so as to ensure aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation of the positive patients.
