Tura, April 28: In a powerful show of unity and grief, the Thakurbari Mandir Committee in Tura organized a candlelight tribute on Sunday evening to honor the 26 tourists who lost their lives in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
The heinous attack, carried out by the terrorists, deliberately targeted Hindu tourists, leaving the entire nation in shock and mourning. In response, members of the Hindu community in Tura gathered in silence, with candles in hand, to pay their respects to the victims.
The tribute began at 5:00 PM and was held within the Thakurbari Mandir premises. Without any formal sabha or speeches, the event focused on silent reflection, prayer, and collective grief. Families, youth, and elders stood together, lighting candles and offering silent prayers for the departed souls.
“Today’s tribute was not just about mourning those we lost. It was a call for unity, a stand against hatred, and a moment to remind ourselves that the strength of our community lies in standing together during times of pain,” said one of the organizers.
The emotional evening saw a strong turnout, with citizens from across Tura participating to express their solidarity. The message was clear – while the terrorists sought to divide and terrorize, the community chose unity, peace, and remembrance.
