Tura, Dec 9: The Tura Youth League officially commenced with two league matches played at the Chandmari Football Turf in Tura on Monday.

The tournament, organized by the District Football Association (DFA), focuses on engaging under-18 players, drawing participation from eight teams across the district.

The teams have been divided into two groups. Group A includes West Balalgre, Rongkhon Sporting, BOCA Juniors, and Chandmari FC, while Group B features Danakgre YSCA, Selsella SA, Blue Maxx, and Chipakkore FC. Each match in the league is set for 70 minutes, with a 10-minute halftime break.

The opening day saw two matches. In the first match, Rongkhon Sporting emerged victorious with a 2-0 win over Chandmari FC. In the second match, Selsella SA defeated Blue Maxx, also by a scoreline of 2-0.

The tournament format will see the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals, which are scheduled for December 16.

The next set of matches will take place on December 10 at the Chandmari Football Turf. Danakgre YSCA will face Chipakkore FC at 1:00 PM, followed by West Balalgre taking on BOCA Juniors at 2:30 PM.
