TURA, Jan 10th: Nokrek Heights School in Tura has this week been granted affiliation by the Central Board of Secondary Education for Senior Secondary level (Class XI-XII) marking an important chapter for this educational institution that started less than two decades ago.
Only three schools in Tura, including Nokrek Heights, are currently under CBSE affiliation.
Obtaining affiliation from the biggest education board in the country is a daunting task for many institutions.
Established in 2008, Nokrek Heights school vision statement says it wants to make the children future ready in the face a challenging world.
The school was granted affiliation for the secondary level in 2017.
Elated by the CBSE Board’s announcement on Wednesday, the head of management of Nokrek Heights School, Tura, Dr. Jasmine A Sangma, expressed her gratitude to the teaching and non-teaching staff for their concerted efforts in maintaining the standards set by CBSE. She did not fail to mention the positive role played by the parents and well-wishers and expressed gratitude for placing their faith in the school.
“Attaining affiliation for the senior secondary level is a significant achievement, and we are elated. We commit ourselves to ensuring that students from Tura receive the best and quality education,” Dr. Sangma stated.
She further informed that, starting from the 2024-25 academic session, the school will introduce subjects like innovation, design thinking, AI, and Robotics.
“As a school, we aim to enhance our learning outcomes and align our curriculum with the needs of this generation. We are placing a strong emphasis on wholesome learning through activities and experiential learning,” she added.
“For many, Tura may be a small town, but for us, this geographical barrier does not pose any hindrance. We are dedicated to bringing the best in education to shape and mold the future of our children.”
