Jorhat, Jul 21: Two brothers drowned when their boat capsized in a water body in Jorhat on Sunday.

The incident took place at Jorhat’s Na Pamua Baligaon Duboroni field when the duo took out a boat to paddle across a field submerged in water. The boat reportedly overturned in the middle of the flooded field where recent digging activity has been undertaken to deepen the depth of the field.

AdvertisementLocals rushed to the site on hearing of the incident and informed the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team.

The bodies of the victims were recovered after several hours of searching by the SDRF.
