Boko, Dec 15: In an unfortunate incident, two men from Meghalaya’s Garo Hills lost their lives in a tragic accident at Paneri village under Assam’s Boko Police Station on Sunday evening.
The two men have been identified as Therang Sangma and Ishak Sangma from Mendipathar in North Garo Hills district of Meghalaya.
The victims, an uncle and his nephew, were employed in an industry under the Chaygaon Industrial Growth Centre.
A speeding truck, bearing registration number WB 59D 1465, hit them as they were returning home after repairing their bicycles, killing both on the spot.
Boko Police promptly arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies and seized the truck involved in the incident. The bodies are scheduled to be sent to Guwahati Medical College Hospital for postmortem examination on Monday.
