Boko, Feb 16: A tragic road accident on NH17 at Lampara under Boko Police Station on Saturday evening claimed the lives of two people.

According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rajib Nath of Boko Police Station, a Yamaha MT-15 bike (AS 01 EE 8837) and a passenger bus (AS 01 RC 8856) were both heading toward Lakhipur in Goalpara district when the bus struck the bike from behind and attempted to flee the scene.

Boko Police immediately responded, tracking the bus and later seized it at Agchiya village. However, the driver managed to escape and is still absconding.

OC Rajib Nath further stated that the victims were carpenters working in Guwahati and were on their way home when the accident occurred.

The bodies will be sent to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for a post-mortem examination on Sunday.
