Itanagar, June 2: In a notable victory, two National People’s Party (NPP) candidates were declared winners in their respective Assembly Constituencies during the ongoing counting process.

Namgey Tsering of the National People’s Party (NPP) has won the Tawang (ST) assembly constituency, and Pesi Jilen won the Liromoba (ST) seat in Arunachal Pradesh.

According to EC data, Tsering, who got 4667 votes, secured his win by a margin of 996 votes, defeating the BJP’s candidate, Tsering Dorjee, who garnered 3,671 votes. On the other hand, Pesi Jilen recorded victory by a margin of 1,698 votes against the BJP’s Nyamar Karbak. Jilen got 7206 votes against Karbak’s 5508 votes.

The counting of votes for the 50 Assembly seats of Arunachal Pradesh began at 6 am on Sunday. Elections to the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly were held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls in the first phase on April 19.
