Two wanted Indian touts arrested in Agartala Railway station

Agartala, July 27: In a joint operation, two Indian touts were detained at Agartala Railway station on Thursday afternoon.

After getting specific inputs, a joint operations were laid by the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Border Security Force (BSF) in plain clothes at Agartala rail station and detained them.

Tapas Das, officer-in-charge of the GRP station said, “They were later arrested and sent to jail. They were wanted in connection to a case at the GRP station for facilitating Bangladeshi infiltrators to illegally cross the border and travel to other states, which was revealed during the interrogation of arrested infiltrators,”.

The touts have been identified as Biblab Karmakar (35) alias Kalu of Chanipur under Sidhai police station in West Tripura district and Bishal Datta (22) of South Golaghati under Takarjala police station in Sepahijala district of Tripura.

The officer informed that only a day ago, a Bangladeshi tout was also arrested by the GRP from Agartala’s bordering Joynagar area in connection to the infiltration of four Bangladeshi nationals three days earlier.

Earlier, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had arrested more than 20 touts from various parts of Tripura.
