Shillong, Oct 28: Tynring Sports Club emerged victorious to clinch the trophy of the Under 21 Fourth Division 2021 edition of the Shillong Sports Association (SSA) at J.N Stadium here Shillong on Thursday in a closed contested finale against Pay For Right (PFR) FC, which saw the winner decided in a decisive 4-2 penalty shootout.
PFR’s Winaldy Suting (17) open the scoresheet scoring in the first half which was later equalised by Damebanker Lyngdoh (10) by a beautiful freeckick in the dying minutes of the second half.
Both Tynring and PFR have been promoted to the SSA Third Division 2022 edition.
It is to be mentioned here that professional football has come back to life this year after two long years hauled by the pandemic.
Speaking to reporters, Tynring’s Seibor Sana (B Licence Coach) said the pandemic has affected the practice of the players as they have to attend online classes and only get to practice in the morning. “It was a setback as we only get two-three hours of practice, but because of my team’s hardwork and dedication we can reach to this platform,” he said.
Tynring Sports Club was awarded a trophy along with Rs. 30,000 cash prize while the Runner’s up PFR received Rs. 15,000 along with a trophy.
