SHILLONG, JUNE 6: NPP state president and deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong said he is ready to correct his shortcomings in order to serve the people of Pynursla constituency better.
This statement came a day after results for the Lok Sabha elections was declared in which two senior leaders of the NPP who are also the deputy chief ministers, Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar were defeated by the Voice of the People Party (VPP) in their Pynursla and Nartiang Assembly seats respectively.
“We have to accept and I respect the mandate of the people in Pynursla constituency, who have elected me as MLA for the fifth term and one term as MDC, I have to respect that,” Tynsong told reporters on Wednesday.
He however said, “By me losing in this manner, it will enable me to examine, research, review myself and my shortcomings, my strength, and where I need to improve my service to the people. So we will meet at the state and constituency level not only in Pynursla but in all 60 constituencies.”
Tynsong said, “Let me do my research. I can’t say right now that all my supporters went and voted in favour of VPP as I said to you I will do my research and I will analyse then accordingly corrective measures will be taken.”
