Dibrugarh, April 16: ULFA (I) claimed responsibility for their involvement in attack on the Assam Rifles vehicle carrying a patrol team. The encounter with 31 Assam Rifles regiment of Army took place at Namdang, Margherita on Tuesday.

As per sources, militants ambushed the convoy, resulting in injuries to Hawladar Om Prakash co-driver of a truck who has sustained two bullet injuries, has been airlifted to Dinjan Army Hospital.
The incident took place at around 8am when the militants fired on the Assam Rifles vehicles while they were coming from Changlang to Margherita carrying a patrol team in Assam’s Tinsukia on Tuesday morning.
“The militants’ groups very easily sneaked into the Indian territory through Arunachal Pradesh to carry out subversive activities. Arunachal Pradesh shares international boundary with Myanmar and China. The militant groups took advantage of the rough terrain to sneak into India,” a police official stated.
