Guwahati, Oct 03: Brigadier A.Z. Shironam Asom alias MD. Selim has been executed by Ulfa(I) for allegedly conspiring against the organisation.
Sources said on September 20, 2023 he (A.Z. Shironam Asom) was hanged after he was found guilty by the outfit.
He has been accused by several allegation imposed against him by cadres and officers.
Sources said a judiciary bench of jury led by Micheal Asom had taken 15 days of hearing and after the session he found blameworthy. His prime guilty noticed – Conspiracy against organization, Misuse of power and function bestowed to him, misuse the property of organization (arms and ammunition), Unlawful killing of Cadre by his own decision, Communication with Indian intelligent. etc.
“He has been executed at Hakhi camp (GMHQ) near donghi town. A lady Cadre also sentenced to death as she admitted Conspiracy of desertion of Cadre and had some connection with A.Z. Shironam,” said a source.
Taking to X (former Twitter) senior journalist Rajeev Bhattacharyya said, ”

Taking to X, Assam DGP wrote, “The heart-breaking news of the death of an indigenous youth in the jungles (ULFA-I camp) has worried everyone. My request to the youth of Assam – do not waste your life for a person and organization for whom your life does not matter.”
