Shillong, May 2: Working President, & Co-Chairman Organising Committee, Meghalaya Games 2022, John F. Kharshiing, on Monday informed that only the good toilets including bio toilets in the indoor stadium and training hall will be used for the Games.

His statement comes after pictures of unhygienic toilets being used by athletes surfaced.

Reacting to the pictures, Kharshiing said, “On receiving the pictures we conducted an inspection immediately and turns out that they are photos of toilets which all athletes have been instructed not to use. On inspection now 2nd May 2022 at 7.20pm we find that some athletes have broken the sealed doors of the unsuable toilets.”

“We have organised and are using only the good toilets including bio toilets in the indoor stadium and training hall. For the girls hostel the toilets are good and clean,” he assured.

He added that prior to the games during inspection with field officer of JN stadium the organising committee decided not to use these defective toilets which have not been used since long time which is likely to be demolished under the present renovation.
