Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal sets Target for 100 Days for MoPSW of Modi 3.0

Guwahati, June 12: After assuming charge at the Ministry, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal took part in a workshop among the officials of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) to draw targets to be achieved on the occasion of completion of 100 days of Modi 3.0 government.

Sonowal also reviewed the targets set and offered every support to transform them into reality. The meet was also attended by the Secretary of MoPSW, TK Ramachandran, among others including Joint Secretaries, Directors, young professionals to Assistant Section Officers.

The targets derived were discussed to understand how they are designed to accelerate progress on key initiatives, streamline operations, and enhance the overall efficiency of the ministry. The 100-day plan includes critical projects such as the modernisation of major ports, enhancing the capacity of inland waterways, and promoting maritime education and training.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, said “under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi we are on the way to be among the top three global economies, which is not an easy feat. As the logistical ministry of the country, it is imminent that we must chalk out a roadmap where we will have a network of modern ports, acting as catalysts of progress and prosperity.

“We met to set targets to be achieved on the eve of 100 days of Modi 3.0 , it must be considered as a milestone towards our endeavour to innovate continuously to build capacity, bring quality and enhance performance of our ports, to build a robust Indian maritime sector,” he further added.

During the workshop, the Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal encouraged discussion while underscoring commitment towards an efficient and effective administration and management in achieving these targets. The engagement highlighted Sonowal’s commitment to foster an environment of collaboration and transparency in the working environment within the ministry. Sonowal also directed the team to prioritise programmes and initiatives as per the targets set for 100 days of Modi 3.0 govt.

Sarbananda Sonowal further said, “The Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways plays a pivotal role in the economic growth of the country. As the custodians, we have a tremendous opportunity to contribute to the ideal of ‘Nation First’ and innovate constantly to amplify performance of our ports based on quality and efficiency. We must embrace cutting edge technologies, sustainable practices, and strategic collaborations to achieve these crucial goals and keep our marine sector competitive & resilient in a rapidly evolving market space”, he further stated.
