Shillong, May 30: Deputy Commissioner, & Chairman District Disaster Management Authority, East Jaintia Hills District stated through an order that, due to heavy downpour the road at National Highway-6 at Lumshnong, has become extremely vulnerable and under the provision of Section 34 (b) and (m) of the Disaster Management, Act 2005, vehicular movement are prohibited with immediate effect till restorative works are completed.
The directives also stated that National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to take up immediate restorative measures for smooth vehicular movement.
Light Motor Vehicles are being directed to take the route of the private road through the Star Cement campus. The order further stated.
