Veterinary Secy Dr. Manjunatha C. passes away due to cardiac arrest

Shillong, Oct 10: The Secretary of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Dr. Manjunatha C., IFS, passed away on Tuesday afternoon in Shillong following cardiac arrest.

Dr. Manjunatha, an IFS officer of 2007 batch, reportedly had a sudden heart attack on Tuesday afternoon. He was 45-years-old.

By late evening, he was brought to Woodland Hospital from his residence at Forest Colony Polo, where he was staying alone; his wife is presently at his native place.

According to Dr. Lari Marbaniang, Dr. Manjunatha was rushed to Woodland Hospital around 6:15 pm. However, upon examination, the doctors determined that he had already passed away, likely before arriving at the hospital.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma took to X (formerly Twitter) to express pain at the untimely demise of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer.

“We are pained by the untimely passing of one of our officers, Shri C. Manjunatha, IFS. Manju was a quiet and efficient officer with exemplary commitment to every Department he handled and took on every task with a smile. I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. May he rest in peace,” Sangma said in his tweets.

Close family members shared that when Dr. Manjunatha returned home from work, he reported feeling unwell. They administered some medicines, but his condition worsened, prompting them to rush him to Woodland Hospital.
