Elections to the Bodoland Territorial Council in Assam will be held next week, a region that has come a long way from its violent battle for statehood, resolved in January this year with a comprehensive peace accord with the militant group NDFB.
The elections to be held in 40 seats on 7 and 10 December are being seen as the semi-finals to the 2021 assembly polls in Assam, only six months away.
