Shillong, Dec 13: Captain Punit Bisht’s blistering performance has helped Meghalaya beat Mizoram by 19 runs in Senior Men’s Cricket Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021.
Scoring 142 runs out of 129 balls, Captain Punit help setup a total target of 237 runs in 50 overs. On chasing the target set by Meghalaya, Mizoram captain scored 109 runs of 123 balls but Meghalaya bowlers kept calm and bowled brilliantly to restrict them to 218/7 in 50 overs.
Win this win, Meghalaya has qualified for Elite Group next season.
Meghalaya will be playing against Tripura in a deciding match on 14th Dec 2021 to qualify for pre-quarters.
