Must read

Shillong, June 28: The opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) on Wednesday demanded the state government to release the pending four-month salary of the Home Guards personnel.

In a letter to the Minister in-charge Home (Civil Defence and Home Guards) Comingone Ymbon, VPP general secretary Ricky AJ Syngkon said, “I would like to draw your attention to the payment of salary to the Home Guards personnel which is long overdue as they have not received their salary for the past 4 months.”

“This is a matter of utmost callousness and inconsideration on the part of the department concerned for the selfless services rendered by the Home Guards personnel,” he said while urging the minister to ensure the payment of salary is made at the earliest.
