A good number of patients are those who come from economically hard pressed backgrounds and since Vellore is a place where medical and health care are excellent and affordable. However, many are in a dilemma when it comes to accommodation, which is expensive, and many a time, patients have to forgo their full course of treatment because of accommodation, which is beyond their means and capacity.

In the light of such cases, Syngkon said the party urges the Govt for immediate and necessary steps to extend and expand the Meghalaya House at Vellore so that the people of the state can get not just the best of medical and health care services but also affordable accommodation.
