WAKO India Kickboxing Federation granted recognition as National Federation by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports

New Delhi, July 3: The WAKO India Kickboxing Federation has been given formal recognition by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports for organization and promotion of the kickboxing as a National Sports Federation (NSF).

The recognition was granted on July 02, 2021.

In the letter to Santosh K Agrawal, president of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation, Deputy Secretary to Government of India, SPS Tomar wrote: “The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports agrees to recognize WAKO India Kickboxing Federation as National Sports Federation (NSF) for promotion and development of sport of kickboxing in the country with immediate effect with the condition that it shall comply with the provisions of National Sports Development Code of India, 2011 and other relevant guidelines issued by the Ministry from time to time.”

The kickboxing sport has been placed in the ‘Others’ category.

Meanwhile, Working President of Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association (MSKA), Lorenzo Pearson Warjri has expressed his happiness to know this and conveyed his best regards to Santosh K Agrawal for his efforts to get this recognition.
