Shillong, May 1: The family of Walinda Binong performed her final rites at Marngar village on Monday.

The 19-year-old was a fashion design student at the School of Design under Mody University in Rajasthan.

She was found dead in her hostel room on April 27, 2023. Rajasthan authorities have declared her death as a suicide after conducting a post-mortem.

However, her family members have expressed disbelief, stating that she was a promising student who excelled in her studies and was due to receive a prize from the college.
