Tura, Oct 27: The 100 Drums Wangala Festival will be held at Baljek airport in Jengjal this year.
This decision was taken by the West Garo Hills district administration after reviewing the issues that had come up.
The Wangala venue was previously designated at Wangala A’dam in Chibragre.
The venue had to be shifted because the approach road via Chibragre picnic spot has been submerged due to rising water levels at the nearby Dam.
An attempt to create an alternative route to the venue was on table but due to some reasons the route could not be done, so the next venue was proposed to be the Babadam area.
However, even the proposed venue had a major setback as the major bridge connecting the venue from the national highway has been damaged.
The DC WGH had confirmed to Hub News about the new venue of this year’s Wangala celebration.
This is the same venue where MLTR had performed last year.
The Me.Gong fest 2023 will also be held at the same venue later next month.
