In the age of social media, the desire for likes, shares, and online validation can motivate individuals, including young boys, to engage in risky or attention-grabbing behaviour to gain recognition or “go viral.”

Young boys often have a natural inclination towards adventure and seeking excitement. The allure of taking risks and doing something daring can be particularly enticing for them.

However, jumping into a raging river can be an impulsive and dangerous act, especially for young boys who may not fully understand the potential risks involved.
