The Garo Labour Corps Cenotaph situated in Tura depicts the story of a sorry state of affairs. As dawn falls Cenotaph turns into a spot for people to drink alcohol and the empty bottles are at disposal in the spot. It is also a place to dump the garbage. A bag of coal placed right in the center of the memorial. Beer bottles, drunkards rule the place once a historic place is a now the new dusbin of Tura. The Garo Labour Corps day is celebrated every year in Tura at the Cenotaph dedicated to members of the corps who took part in 1st World War who came back safe and died in the noble work at France.
