The day-long programme was marked by active participation from officials, students, and members of the local community. Hamletson Dohling, Adviser to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, graced the occasion as the chief guest and inaugurated the ‘Springtap Chamber’ during the ‘Bhoomi Poojan’ ceremony — a key water conservation structure under the watershed initiative.

In his address, Dohling emphasised the significance of the Watershed Programme in protecting natural resources and improving rural livelihoods. “The Government is committed to implementing the PMKSY initiatives efficiently, with a vision to spread awareness on the importance of conserving nature,” he said. He further urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively with the government to ensure the protection and sustainable use of environmental resources.
