Shillong, April 16: The Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), in collaboration with the India Meteorological Department (IMD), has issued weather alerts for several regions in the state, warning of potential thunderstorms, lightning, and rainfall over the next few hours.

1. East Garo Hills
– Forecast: Thunderstorms and lightning with light to moderate rainfall, with the possibility of hail.
– Validity: 16 April, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
– Caution: Residents are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.

2. Eastern West Khasi Hills, East Garo Hills, East Jaintia Hills, East Khasi Hills, and West Jaintia Hills
– Forecast: Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by light to moderate rainfall.
– Validity: 16 April, 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
– Caution: Citizens are urged to exercise caution during this period.
