Shillong, May 13: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shillong, has issued a weather alert warning of thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by light to moderate rainfall over several districts of Meghalaya. The affected regions include South Garo Hills, South West Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, and East Khasi Hills.

According to the latest advisory, the adverse weather conditions are expected to occur at isolated places within these districts over the next three hours. The warning was issued at 7 PM on May 13 and remains valid until 10 PM tonight.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to take necessary precautions, avoid open spaces during lightning activity, and stay indoors where possible to ensure safety.
