Tura, Nov 22: The Chief Executive Officer of Tura Municipal Board, Rikse R Marak has issued a notification announcing the closure of the weekly market along the Chandmari- K A Road stretch on Saturday, ahead of the closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Catholic Church in Garo Hills.
This is for the information for all concerned that in view of closing the Golden Jubilee
Celebration of Tura Diocese at Don Bosco Mini Stadium, Tura on 2nd of December, 2023
(Saturday) the weekly market held on Saturday will remain closed. Therefore, all vendors of Chandmari area are requested not to bring their produce for sale on the said date, stated the order.
Further, all residents of Chandmari have been requested to refrain from accessing road from Chandmari road to Don Bosco Mini Stadium to avoid traffic congestion during the closing ceremony.
Also, no food/snack stalls shall be allowed to be set up along that stretch, announced the TMB.
The inauguration of the religious celebrations on November 3rd witnessed a sea of humanity descend at the Don Bosco School Stadium for the church service leaving roads jam packed with people and cars.
