Shillong, Sept 10: The state government has set up the District Level Protection Cell of Transgender in West Khasi Hills District.
The cell is being set up under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner cum Chairperson, District Legal Protection Cell of Transgender, West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin.
In view of this and in line with the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules, 2020 registration for obtaining the Transgender Certificate as part of the SMILE Scheme can be made online on the National Portal for Transgender.
This was informed by Deputy Commissioner Cum Chairperson District Legal Protection Cell of Transgender, West Khasi Hills Garod LSN Dykes on Tuesday.
