Shillong, Nov 28: Meghalaya Women’s Football team faced a heavy defeat against a strong Manipur side 4-0 in their opening match of the women’s National Football Championship in Kuthuparamba, Kerala on Sunday.

Ibashisha Khongwet in a telephonic conversation with Hub News said, “The girls have given everything they had but it wasn’t our day… Manipur is filled with experienced National Team players who have represented India in several occasions… it’s difficult to break them”.

An amazing experienced and will definitely come back stronger in the next match, added Khongwet.

Meghalaya is in group ‘A’ and will play their next match against Daman & Diu on November 30 and play Pondicherry in their final group match.
