The incident sparked discussions on social media, with many netizens expressing shock and tagging the police and the Election Commission of India (ECI). However, there are some users support her act. The Sinhagad police station has since registered a case against Chakankar.

One user on “X” said, “Who allowed her to carry Pooja Ki Thali in the voting room? An investigation to be conducted.” Another user who supported posted, “So this is also a violation of the code of conduct. How can showing respect to EVM be a violation of the code of conduct.”
