Guwahati, June 8: The Maharishi Vidya Mandir Public School-V, Guwahati, organized a World Environment Day on Wednesday with a plantation drive of planting different types of tree saplings by students in the school campus.
Apart from planting tree saplings, a series of programs were organized to sensitize the students on the need to protect the environment. Competitions like extempore, essay writing, painting were held in the school premises to mark the day.
Speaking to the media the students showed their enthusiasm and said that today on “World Environment Day, we planted trees to make our campus green.”
A cyclist was also present at the event, who participated in the plantation along with the students and emphasized the need for a greener world.
Maharishi Vidya Mandir Public School-V was established in 2003 at Kalipur. In the year 2019 it shifted to its own campus, which is at Gotanagar, Jalukbari. More than 1000 students are studying in the school from class prep. to X.
