Guwahati, Mar 7: YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia is scheduled to appear before the Assam police in Guwahati on Friday following his controversial comments on the ‘India Got Latent’ show.
A case was lodged against Allahbadia in Guwahati after his comments during the show, which was hosted by comedian Samay Raina.
Allahbadia’s comments sparked widespread backlash, leading to a police investigation and legal action.
As part of the investigation, the Assam Police issued a summons for Allahbadia to appear for questioning in Guwahati. Allahbadia had not responded to the previous summon by Guwahati police.
The controversy also involves fellow YouTuber Ashish Chanchalani, who was questioned by the Guwahati Crime Branch last week.
The Supreme Court has allowed Ranveer Allahbadia to resume airing ‘The Ranveer Show’ after YouTuber BeerBiceps noted that the videos and podcasts were his ‘only source of livelihood’.
