Guwahati, Dec 30: Kamrup Police have arrested a 20-year-old youth, Ricky Khan, also known as Rekib Ali, for allegedly posting objectionable content on Instagram targeting Lord Ram.

The arrest followed widespread outrage on social media, where Khan’s post was condemned for being offensive and potentially inflammatory. Khan, who identifies himself as a “Professional Model” and holds the title “Mr. Guwahati 2k23,” according to his Instagram bio, is now under legal scrutiny.

Kamrup Police confirmed the arrest and stated that legal proceedings are underway. However, further details about the investigation remain undisclosed.

In a related incident earlier this month, the Manipur Police detained three administrators of the Facebook page Manipur News Group 2024 for allegedly allowing and publishing derogatory comments against Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh and his cabinet.
