10-year-old boy brutally murdered in Umtangar Village, Ri Bhoi District

Nongpoh, February 20: A 10-year old boy was brutally murdered in Umtangar village under Patharkhmah Police Station in Ri Bhoi District.

The incident happened on last Sunday evening around 7 PM. The lifeless body of the 10-year old boy was found in a jungle nearby his residence.

The boy, identified as Kitborlang Marbaniang, was the son of Diona Marbaniang and Synshar Nonghyndah. He had six brothers and one sister, being the fourth among his siblings.

According to reports, Kitborlang went out with a friend on Saturday and did not return home. His body was found on Sunday evening in the jungle, with injuries to his forehead and face indicating he was murdered.

Upon learning of the incident, the police from Patharkhmah promptly arrived at the scene for investigation. Subsequently, Kitborlang’s body was transported to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for postmortem examination. After the examination, his body was handed over to his family for the last rites on Monday.

An FIR has been lodged at Patharkhmah Police Station by the victim parents, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrator responsible for this merciless act of murder.
