Shillong, Dec 12: In a shocking incident, Meghalaya Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh’s official vehicle was attacked on Tuesday night while she was returning home with her family. The attack occurred near the Greenhill Restaurant along the route to 4th Furlong, in Shillong.
The left front window of the minister’s car (bearing registration ML 01 0011) was completely shattered by what is suspected to be a heavy object. Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack, as the front passenger seat was unoccupied at the time.
Minister Lyngdoh filed an FIR at the Laitumkhrah Police Station on Thursday regarding the incident.
Sources close to the family revealed that the shocking nature of the attack left them unsettled, causing a delay in the filing of the formal complaint.
Currently, the family is not sure if the attack was intentional or an unfortunate accident.
