126 candidates from Meghalaya receive appointment letter in Rozgar Mela in Shillong

Shillong, Sept 27: Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs John Barla on Tuesday joined the Rozgar Mela in Shillong wherein he distributed appointment letters to the new recruits following the Prime Minister’s address.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rozgar Mela and distributed about 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via video conferencing on Tuesday.

In Shillong, appointment certificates were handed over to 293 candidates belonging to the Department of Posts, Food Corporation of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Defence.

Out of these 126 candidates received appointment on Tuesday in the Meghalaya region.

The Union Minister, while expressing his delight for the successful organisation of the Rozgar Mela, said, “It gives me immense pleasure to be here today and be part of the Prime Minister Rozgar Mela event which is being held at 46 Centers all over the country.” Recalling the vision of the Prime Minister for providing government jobs to the youth on a time bound manner, Barla said, “In June 2022, Our Hon’ble Prime Minister reviewed the status of Human Resources available in all departments and ministries and instructed that recruitment of 10 lakh people must done by the Government in mission mode in next one and half years.”

Highlighting that the Rozgar Mela is a significant addition to the various initiatives of the central government, Barla said that the Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation along with providing meaningful opportunity to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development.

Extending his heartiest congratulations to the new recruits, the Minister said, “I would like to congratulate all the candidates who will be joining the Government Service today. You are joining today in the Amrit Kaal to help fulfil the resolve of a developed and self-reliant India. Youth are coming forward as today our Government has made applying and getting a government job very easy.”

One of the new recruits, Audrey Liza Malngiang from Shillong, expressing her gratitude, said “ I feel blessed and honoured that I got the opportunity to be part of the Rozgar Mela and I would like to thank our Hon’ble Prime Minister for giving me the opportunity to work for Govt of India.” Audrey received her appointment on Tuesday in the Department of Post as Gramin Dak Sevaks – Assistant Branch Postmaster.

Another recruit from Tripura, Abdul Alamin said that it is indeed a very happy moment for him for getting this opportunity to get the appointment letter through Rozgar Mela. He said, “My father, who is a farmer, is very happy and proud today that I have got a government job today and I am grateful to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for inviting us in this Rozgar Melt and providing us with an appointment letter on the spot.”
