Mumbai, Nov 26: On November 26, 2008-15 years ago on this day terror attack rocked India’s financial capital, Mumbai. This day is often referred to as 26/11.

Things to know about the Mumbai terror attack:
# Terrorist from the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group entered Mumbai on the night of November 26, 2008. In the four days, the terrorist killed 166 people and injured over 300.
# The targets were made which could make a maximum impact including the Taj, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Oberoi Hotels, the Jewish centre at Nariman House, and the Leopold Cafe.
# In the terror attack, nine LeT terrorists were killed while Mohammad Ajmal Amir Qasab- the only Pakistani terrorist from the Mumbai terror attack was arrested at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station.
# Many security personnel, including two NSG commandos laid down their lives in the Mumbai attack, including Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan.
# In May 2010, Qasab was handed the death penalty, and was hanged in a maximum security prison in Pune city two years later.
# Marking 15 years of Mumbai terror attack, Israel has officially designated Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) as a terror organisation without any request by the Indian government.
