Tura, May 28: Following a lull of four days of zero mortality, Covid has returned once again with a vengeance snuffing out two lives in a span of two days in Tura.
A 43-year-old man from Niram A’Ding locality of Tura died from Covid complications in Tura Civil Hospital on Thursday night after battling the disease for 13 long days.
On Friday night a 64-year-old man from Chandmari was brought dead to hospital and later found covid positive.
With the two deaths the toll has risen to 40 in the entire Garo Hills with the highest of 27 victims coming from the West Garo Hills district.
Medical experts are urging people to be cautious and not venture out unless necessary and to wear double face masks and hand sanitize to protect against infection.
