TURA, Sept 5: Coming close on the heels of a suspected criminal being caught by villagers of Sangknigre area of Chokpot on Monday, another two men who entered the same village of Rongdi Anchenggre were apprehended on Tuesday and their vehicle seized.
On Monday, a suspect was rounded up villagers of Rongdi Anchenggre, under Sangknigre police station of Chokpot, and villagers alleged that he was part of a gang that had planned to kidnap a non-tribal trader from the area.
Soon after, two men in a white Maruti gypsy appeared in the village on Tuesday morning claiming to be in search of a missing man. Both the suspects were apprehended by the villagers and interrogated, revealing that they had indeed come to rescue their companion who had been caught the previous day.
All three were handed over to police along with the vehicle and cases are being taken up against them while search continues to nab the other members of the group.
One of the arrested men hails from Tura, while the other two are from Rimrangpara area of Chokpot.
