Guwahati, Apr 10: Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, the Special Task Force of the Assam police nabbed three persons from Beltola area in Guwahati with huge consignment of heroin.
The accused were identified as Suman Talukdar (32), Audulomi Goyari (35) and Nersing Basumatary (57).
According to police, after getting information, the STF team carried out an operation at Rupkonwar path in Guwahati and nabbed three persons with suspected drugs.
“During searching, we found a large pack of heroin weighing almost a kilogram. On further checking, it was found that the heroin was seized worth Rs 10 crore,” said a police official.
The police said of the three, Talukdar is a resident of Tinsukia, Goyari of Udalguri and Basumatary is Dhemaji.”We have launched a massive operation against the drugs trade.
We have organised naka checking to thwart any kind of criminal activities,” said a police official.
