Tura, April 27: Exciting matches continue as the 3rd P. A. Sangma Memorial Day & Night Cricket Tournament completed Day 5 on Saturday at the Police Parade ground in Tura, culling the lowest-performing teams from the competition.

Small Brothers vs The Mavericks, was an interesting match showcasing the talents of young players from both sides. Batting first, Small Brothers set a target of 137 runs (136 for the loss of 6 wickets) in their allotted 10 overs.

The Mavericks began their chase with strong intent but ultimately fell short, scoring only 62 runs before being bowled out in 10 overs. As a result, Small Brothers registered a smooth 74-run victory. Bishal Basfor of Small Brothers was awarded player of the match for scalping 5 wickets in 3 overs.

Last match of the day featured a game between Hitter and Abzo XI. Hitter struggled with the bat and could only muster 56 runs before being bowled out in 8.5 overs. Abzo XI played well, chasing down the target in mere 4.5 overs with a loss of 3 wickets, with Rohit Kazi scoring 43 runs in just 18 balls. Chandan from Abzo XI took 4 wickets in 3 overs while conceding only 6 runs and was awarded player of the match.

Results of other matches:
– Highlanders Warriors secured a narrow 5-run victory against Modynagar. Lastbirth D Shira of Highlanders Warriors earned the Player of the Match title.
– Brotherhood dominated their match against Super Gents, winning by a significant margin of 158 runs. Greseng Marak of Brotherhood was awarded Player of the Match.
– Fearless Baghmara registered a comfortable 7-wicket win against Jakusan. Anseng Sangma of Fearless Baghmara was named Player of the Match.
– Hind Warriors defeated Health Warriors by 6 wickets. Avinash Basfor of Hind Warriors was recognized as Player of the Match.
– Little Champs cruised to an 8-wicket victory against Royal Challenger Boys. Sagar of Little Champs received the Player of the Match award.
– Stunners 2.0 recorded a commanding 147-run win against Team Fatalic. Bishnu Mahato of Stunners 2.0 was awarded Player of the Match.
